Overview & Engineering Philosophy

Defining fraud rules has historically been a bottleneck: risk teams write policy specs in Word documents, engineers convert them into code weeks later, and backtesting requires staging databases.

Osprey Studio provides an intuitive visual IDE where analysts build rules using blocks and boolean expressions, test them against historical transaction datasets in seconds, and export validated CEL configurations.

Changes can be deployed dynamically to live Osprey engines via the hot-reload `/rules/reload` endpoint with zero downtime.

Architecture Specifications

Node-Based Visual Rule Canvas

Drag-and-drop conditions, velocity limits, and threshold triggers that transpile directly into valid Google CEL.

Historical Backtesting Engine

Replay months of transaction logs to calculate false-positive and false-negative rates before activating a rule in production.

Hot-Reload Deployment

Publish updated rule sets to fleet of Osprey engines with instant propagation and zero transaction drop.

Multi-Tenant Rule Partitioning

Create distinct policy sets for different banking partners, customer tiers, or regional jurisdictions.
